If you put these simple shapes together, you'll have another way to draw our chimp.  Notice he has no neck; the shoulder line starts at the face. We did the right shoulder line higher than the left, which makes him look like he's about to run up a tree. 
 
 
 
We finished off our drawing with eyes, ears, long fingers, and lots of body hair.
 
Here's a more finished version of a chimp up a tree.
