Betty Boop
originals
From Pauline Comanor's cartoon collection
When Pauline
Comanor was just 16 years old, she met the legendary Max Fleischer,
creator of the Betty Boop cartoon character and head of the Paramount
Pictures animation studios. She soon joined his studio and became
his special protege, appearing in many shows and demonstrations
with him, where she sketched such characters as Betty Boop, Koko
and Popeye. While making these appearances, she was billed by
the studio as "the country's one and only girl movie artist."
The Betty Boop originals
here, sketched and signed by Pauline Comanor, represent a unique
link to the mystique and magic of the master of animated
cartoons, Max Fleischer.
